This is a scene from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang we did for a contest. We… won a video ipod. Muwahaha. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a 2005 crime/dark comedy film, which engages many conventions of the classic film noir genre in a tongue-in-cheek fashion. It is based, in part, on the novel Bodies Are Where You Find Them by Brett Halliday. The cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Val Kilmer and Michelle Monaghan. The screenplay was written by Shane Black who also directed the film. It was produced by Joel Silver, and co-produced by Downey’s wife Susan Downey (who is credited as Susan Levin). The film’s title is a reference to Pauline Kael’s 1968 book, which in turn was named after a translation of an Italian poster of a James Bond movie, which she called “perhaps the briefest statement imaginable of the basic appeal of the movies.”[2] Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was filmed in Los Angeles between February 24 and May 3, 2004. After debuting at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival in France on May 14,[3] it received a limited release in cinemas in late October and early November 2005. It was the first film produced by Public Media Works, a production company founded by Corbin Bernsen.[4] The film is narrated by a small-time criminal, Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey, Jr.). He is self-aware and discusses the events of the film in an almost metafictional way. Fleeing a botched robbery, Harry evades the police by ducking into a movie audition for a hardboiled film and, ironically, impresses the producers with …
This was my first film, a form of self film school. It’s a 117-minute detective noir/comedy/fantasy/sci-fi/romance/action movie about a cowboy who gets warped through time in a meteor accident and then becomes a notorious private investigator with a talking car for a girlfriend. It follows five days of his life as he works on a murder investigation for an allegedly Irish mob boss and discovers several truths about life. It was screened only once for an audience of 200 non-paying customers in Boise, Idaho. It is now for sale on Amazon and Createspace. Distributed by Tubemogul.
FBI gave 000 to van der Sloot Joran Van Der Sloot Got 000 from FBI Before Trip to Peru, Says Private Investigator SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (CBS/AP) In an effort to build an extortion case against Joran van der Sloot, the FBI gave the suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway the money that he used to fund the trip to Peru where he allegedly attacked and killed Stephany Flores, says a private investigator. PICTURES: Joran van der Sloot PICTURES: Stephany Flores The investigator claims that van der Sloot should have been arrested before he left Aruba. According to Bo Dietl, a retired New York City detective, FBI agents recorded a meeting last month in Aruba where van der Sloot told a lawyer for Natalee Holloway’s family that he would provide information regarding their daughter’s 2005 disappearance in exchange for money. Federal agents seized this opportunity to build a case against the man now suspected of two murders and decided to give him 000; however, once the agents gave van der Sloot the money, they, according to Dietl, failed to detain the young man. It is believed van der Sloot used the money to fly to Peru and attend a poker tournament where he met Flores and then, according to police, killed her in his hotel room exactly five years after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Joran van der Sloot reportedly confessed to the murder of Stephany Flores, and remains in custody in Peru. Charges are expected to be filed in the Stephany Flores case in the …
(1991) It’s an odd little movie that attempts to combine humour, suspense, and a serious message about illegal immigration. Maura stars as Molly Field, a lingerie designer whose illegal immigrant models are being murdered while wearing her creations. When the cops aren’t tackling the case with as much dedication as she’d hoped, Molly hires a private investigator (John Romo) to find the killer. Naturally, the two fall in love while the killer is at large. June Lockhart co-stars as Molly’s mother and Jerry Orbach plays her boss. Maura Tierney has less-than-fond feelings towards this film, at one point calling it the “biggest mistake of my life.” It’s actually quite tame, considering the title, but it’s also an incredibly lousy movie.
