My Favorite Brunette (1947), starring Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour. Ronnie Jackson (Bob Hope) is an aspiring but inept private detective trying to escape his dull life as a studio photographer. When his private detective friend, Sam mccloud (Alan Ladd), leaves town, Jackson meets Baroness Carlotta Montay (Dorothy Lamour), who is in ugent need of a private detective.
